Tintagel is the accessible heart of Castle’s Made in UK loudspeaker range — a series created for listeners who want natural sound, real-wood craftsmanship and everyday system flexibility without complication.
Available as the compact Tintagel 1 standmount and the larger Tintagel 2 floorstander, the series brings Castle’s familiar warmth, tactility and musical ease into a form that is simple to place, easy to drive and rewarding to live with.
Hand-built and hand-finished in the UK, Tintagel continues Castle’s long tradition of loudspeakers that feel like carefully made furniture, as well as high-performance audio components.
A modern Castle, made for music
Tintagel has been designed around the values that have always defined Castle: cabinet craft, natural voicing and long-term musical enjoyment. Its sound is expressive and open through the midrange, smooth through the treble and balanced enough to work confidently in real listening rooms.
At the centre of the design is an advanced fibre bass/mid cone, chosen for its lightness, damping and controlled behaviour. It helps voices and instruments sound articulate and communicative, avoiding the exposed or etched character that can occur when driver materials are less naturally controlled.
The 28mm silk-dome treble unit sits within a shallow waveguide, helping high frequencies disperse smoothly into the room. The result is a refined, spacious top end that integrates naturally with the midrange and does not force the listener into one narrow listening position.
Tintagel 1
Tintagel 1 is the compact standmount of the series: a two-way loudspeaker designed for music lovers who want Castle’s natural tonal balance in a smaller room or more flexible system.
Its 130mm advanced fibre bass/mid driver and 28mm silk-dome treble unit deliver an articulate, balanced and easy-to-live-with presentation, supported by a carefully tuned rear reflex port for satisfying bass from a compact cabinet.
Tintagel 2
Tintagel 2 takes the same acoustic personality into a 2.5-way floorstanding design, adding greater scale, bass authority and room-filling ease.
Twin 150mm advanced fibre drivers reinforce low-frequency weight and lower-midrange body, while the 28mm silk-dome treble unit maintains the smooth, open character of the series. A downward-firing port exits through the plinth, helping the speaker deliver extended bass with controlled room behaviour.

Tintagel is also engineered for real homes and real systems. Controlled directivity, practical placement behaviour and 8-ohm-compatible performance make it easy to integrate with a wide range of traditional and modern amplifiers. Behind the sound, cast alloy driver chassis, internal bracing, bitumen damping and long-fibre wool absorption work together to reduce cabinet colouration, giving the music a quieter, more stable platform from which to perform.
