Castle Walmer Series
Walmer is the more technically ambitious expression within Castle's Made in UK loudspeaker range — a series created for listeners who want the warmth, craft and natural musicality of Castle, with greater resolution, speed and scale.
Available as the compact Walmer 1 standmount and the larger Walmer 2 floorstander, the series combines woven carbon fibre drive units with a true ribbon high-frequency unit to deliver a sound that is open, spacious and naturally detailed.
Hand-built and hand-finished in the UK, Walmer continues Castle's tradition of loudspeakers that are as carefully made as they are carefully voiced: refined in the home,expressive in the system and rewarding over years of listening.
A modern Castle, with greater technical reach
Walmer has been designed for listeners who want a more revealing Castle loudspeaker without losing the qualities that make the brand distinctive. Its presentation is neutral, natural and spacious, combining clean transient behaviour with a refined top end and the calm, furniture-grade presence expected from a Castle cabinet.
At the centre of the Walmer sound is a woven carbon fibre driver platform. Carbon fibre offers high stiffness relative to weight, helping the cone remain controlled through its working range. In listening terms, this supports clean bass definition, articulate midrange detail and a sense of speed that never needs to become hard or analytical.
The true ribbon high-frequency unit gives Walmer its open and airy upper register. With exceptionally low moving mass, the ribbon diaphragm can respond quickly to fine musical detail, while its wide horizontal dispersion helps create a spacious listening window that does not force the listener into one narrow position.
Walmer 1
Walmer 1 is the compact standmount of the series: a two-way loudspeaker designed for music lovers who want a more resolving Castle presentation in a smaller room or more flexible system.
Its 130mm woven carbon fibre bass/midrange driver and 12 × 45mm true ribbon high-frequency unit deliver a sound that is articulate, open and naturally spacious, with the warmth and refinement expected from Castle.
Walmer 2
Walmer 2 takes the Walmer concept into a true three-way floorstanding design, adding greater scale, deeper bass and a more complete high-end technical platform.
Twin 150mm woven carbon fibre bass drivers are partnered with a dedicated 115mm woven carbon fibre midrange unit and the same true ribbon high-frequency system. This allows each drive unit to work within a carefully defined range, supporting stronger low-frequency authority, cleaner midrange focus and a more effortless sense of scale.

Walmer brings Castle’s renewed British loudspeaker programme to listeners who want a more technically advanced expression of the Castle sound. Its woven carbon fibre drivers support low colouration, fast transient behaviour and an open midband, while the true ribbon high-frequency unit brings speed, air and wide room dispersion.
Walmer is also engineered for real homes and real systems. Controlled directivity, careful crossover integration and refined cabinet construction help the loudspeaker sound balanced, composed and spacious in everyday listening spaces. Behind the sound, cast-alloy driver chassis, internal bracing, damping materials, and long-fibre wool absorption work together to reduce cabinet colouration, giving the music a quieter, more stable platform from which to perform.
